Meet the Maker, Jessica Rust of Rust Designs in Los Angeles, California. A love of dinnerware that began as a young girl admiring dishes on her grandmother’s wall led Jessica to Parsons School of Design in NYC where she studied product design.
After Parsons she explored both ancient Chinese factories and high tech German factories to learn from masters of the trade. The process of making a plate from start to finish after all these years never loses its charm for her.
Jessica’s hand painted trays, platters, mugs, plates and bowls are created in an effort to celebrate the little everyday moments that make up life. She even has a line you can personalize with your initials and a special date, perfect for a wedding!
There is such pleasure in eating off something you find beautiful or simply dropping your keys on a lovely dish. Designing for these moments is her joy.
