Meet the Maker, Ben Dombey, founder and glassblower of GlassblowerBen, based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ben creates different sized glass tumblers and mixing glasses all 100% inflated by lung power. They are perfectly weighted to feel substantial in your hand yet luxurious on your lips. He makes shot glasses, pint glasses, collins glasses, rita glasses and a gorgeous mixing pitcher with stirrer to add those last details to your home bar.
Ben Dombey was introduced to glassblowing in 2003 and felt like he was meeting an old friend. In 2008 he finished a BA in Fine Arts studying glassblowing from Tulane University. And in 2012 he completed a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from The Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. To say his life has been dedicated to the art of glassblowing is an understatement.
Ben’s collection of glassware is inspired by a trip to Scotland in 2011. Upon his return he began his quest to create the best rocks glass to serve everything from whiskey straight to a perfectly mixed margarita.
